Overview

Kim advises employers and HR professionals on employee benefits and policies. She counsels on legal compliance and plan design, and provides frequent updates on state and local required benefits, health and wellness options, retirement planning, and paid time off.

She handles matters related to legal compliance with employee benefits, including preparing plan documents, IRS determination letter applications, and applications for IRS and DOL compliance programs. She works on program structuring and preparation of plan amendments, SPDs, and SMMs, ensuring benefit plans comply with applicable federal and state laws, including ERISA, the ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, and Section 125 requirements. Kim also assists clients in the design and drafting of affirmative action plans, employee handbooks, administrative procedures, and forms, especially those relating to retirement plans, cafeteria plans, flexible spending accounts, HRAs, VEBAs, insured and self-insured welfare plans, COBRA, and QDROs.
