Impact

Community involvement has long been part of life at McNees. Across the firm, our people serve on nonprofit boards, volunteer their time, support local organizations, and take part in causes that are meaningful to them.

Each year, that involvement reaches hundreds of organizations in the communities where we live and work. Some of those relationships span decades, while others begin with an individual seeing a need and deciding to get involved.

Pro bono work has long been part of the firm’s approach to public service. We support attorneys who take on matters for individuals of limited means, nonprofit organizations, and other clients who may not otherwise have access to legal representation.

That work has included helping first responders prepare estate planning documents, assisting survivors of domestic violence with protection orders, advising new charitable organizations, helping tenants remain in their homes, and supporting individuals facing legal barriers to employment.

McNees also participates in pro bono programs through bar associations and community organizations, while encouraging attorneys to pursue opportunities that reflect their own interests and experience.
