Alex advises nonprofit and for-profit healthcare providers on transactions, regulatory compliance, and corporate matters.

She represents hospitals and health systems, long-term care providers, personal care and home health providers, ambulatory surgical centers, behavioral health providers, and professional trade associations in mergers and acquisitions, membership substitutions, asset transfers, affiliations, reorganizations, and related regulatory filings and transaction structuring.

Alex also counsels clients on HIPAA compliance, fraud and abuse, medical staff matters, and other healthcare regulatory issues. Her corporate practice includes mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and structuring, contract negotiations, entity formation, and general corporate matters.

Alex serves as director and secretary of the Board of Directors of Jessica & Friends Community, a York, Pennsylvania-based faith-based nonprofit that provides services to individuals with intellectual disabilities.

  • Independent Hospitals: Represented a longtime independent hospital client in its acquisition by WellSpan Health.
  • Hospital Systems: Represented a longtime health system client in the acquisition of hospitals, nursing homes, pharmacies, and durable medical equipment suppliers.
  • Drug and alcohol treatment providers: Represented client in the acquisition, growth, and eventual sale of its multi-facility business to a private equity buyer.
  • Physician groups: Represented various physician group clients in the sale of their respective surgery centers to both health systems and private equity-backed buyers.
  • Burnham Holdings: Represented client in the $27.6 million sale of its Thermo Products and Norwood Manufacturing subsidiaries to R.W. Beckett Corporation.
