Press Releases

HARRISBURG, Pa. — (February 3, 2022) McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC is pleased to announce that Brigid Landy Khuri and Diamond U. Wade joined the firm’s nationally ranked Energy and Environmental Law Group, complementing the team’s collaborative approach to client service.

Khuri focuses on environmental regulation, advising clients on air, water, waste, land use and remediation issues and representing them in related litigation and administrative proceedings. She guides clients seeking environmental permits; supports those responding to enforcement actions brought by state and federal agencies; and assists in comprehensive internal investigations stemming from environmental compliance issues.

Understanding that environmental compliance is just one aspect of her clients’ operations, Khuri’s goal is to find efficient, effective solutions that contribute to overall success.

“I am thrilled to join the team at McNees — a go-to firm for entities doing business in the region due to its ability to serve clients across multiple practice groups,” Khuri said. “The firm also has a great track record of engaging with the community, something that is important to me as a lifelong Pennsylvania resident.”

Prior to joining McNees, Khuri worked for AM Law 100 firm K&L Gates, LLP, in Harrisburg.

Wade leverages her clean energy and natural gas transactional and regulatory work experience to establish and nurture impactful relationships. Before joining McNees, she worked for the District of Columbia Public Service Commission where, in part, she participated in environmental working groups and community discussions on issues before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), Organization of PJM States (OPSI) and affiliated government agencies.

“We are delighted to welcome Brigid and Diamond to our team,” Bob Weishaar, chair of the Energy and Environmental Law Group, said. “Brigid brings environmental transactional and regulatory compliance experience, and Diamond brings state energy regulatory experience that will enable us to better serve our clients.”

The Energy and Environmental Law Group collaborates with clients and other McNees practices, connecting resources from across the firm and its subsidiary companies to solve issues across a range of energy and environmental matters. Its team of professionals provides counsel in addressing the business, regulatory and legal needs of the energy industry, nimbly navigating the ever-changing legal and regulatory landscape’s effect on the marketplace.

Outside of advising clients on how policy changes may impact business, the group’s 12 attorneys, one paralegal, one senior government relations advisor and three specialists regularly practice before commissions; handle compliance and enforcement matters; negotiates project and rate contracts; develop on-site generation plans, including renewable energy options; and litigate environmental law and toxic tort cases.
