Profile

Susan has a broad-based energy and utility practice.  She regularly advises energy-intensive businesses and municipalities on energy and natural gas matters, including negotiating retail and wholesale energy contracts and supporting sustainability initiatives through physical and virtual power purchase agreements and on-site generation, including renewable and combined heat and power (CHP) energy projects.  She has helped to craft innovative approaches for retail supply, such as creating energy services affiliates for energy-intensive businesses. Her experience extends to assisting businesses and institutions with navigating both FERC and state rules, including with respect to public utility status. Susan also regularly participates in the PJM stakeholder process on behalf of clients and has experience in multiple wholesale markets.

Susan’s practice also involves advising clients on renewable energy matters.  She has worked with solar developers to negotiate agreements and advise on interconnection rules.   As part of her practice, Susan regularly counsels electric and natural gas suppliers and renewable energy developers on FERC and state regulatory compliance.
