Yangmo “Harvey” Ahn assists clients with patent prosecution, intellectual property litigation, IP counseling, and technology-related transactions.
He handles patent prosecution, IP litigation, and IP counseling and transactions, drawing on his technical background in naval architecture and ocean engineering. His practice extends to mechanical devices, medical devices, protective athletic and active gear, and consumer products.
Harvey has earned the Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP) credential through the International Association of Privacy Professionals and the Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) certification through ISACA. These credentials support his work in technology, risk, and evolving AI governance.
Before entering the legal profession, Harvey worked as a structural engineer for a major South Korean shipbuilder. He designed and evaluated ship structures for ultra-large containerships, liquefied petroleum gas carriers, liquefied natural gas carriers, and crude oil carriers. His work included computer-aided design, structural calculations, finite element analysis, technical proposals, and compliance with maritime classification and International Maritime Organization requirements.
Harvey previously served as a summer intern and law clerk with McNees while in law school. He is fluent in Korean and can assist Korean-speaking clients with communications related to their legal matters.
