Tom represents clients in intellectual property matters across the technology, food and beverage, construction, financial, and entertainment industries. He advises on trademark prosecution, IP transactions, and litigation, with a focus on protecting and enforcing clients' intellectual property rights.
He handles matters involving trademark prosecution, copyright and trade secret litigation, trademark oppositions, UDRP actions, and federal lawsuits, including cases before the U.S. Courts of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court. He has managed worldwide trademark portfolios and obtained numerous U.S. trademark registrations.
Tom also works on a wide range of IP contracts, including licenses, assignments, coexistence and settlement agreements, private label and master service agreements, non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements, and rules for contests and sweepstakes. He counsels clients on advertising, marketing, and trade secret protection programs.
He is a member of the Copyright Committee of the International Trademark Association and previously served on the Parallel Importation and Trademark Enforcement Committees.
