Overview

Geoff represents innovators, manufacturers, and technology-driven companies in complex, high-value intellectual property matters, helping them protect and commercialize core innovations. He advises clients across advanced manufacturing sectors, including the semiconductor, analytical instrumentation, life science, construction robotics, and energy industries, ranging from startups to multi-billion-dollar organizations.

He advises on the full lifecycle of intellectual property assets, helping clients identify, protect, leverage, and monetize innovations. His practice centers on patent prosecution, strategic portfolio development, and enforcement planning and risk avoidance. Geoff frequently serves as strategic outside counsel, helping companies oversee and coordinate their IP legal work while aligning protection strategies with broader business objectives. He advises clients in licensing negotiations, technology transfer matters, and complex commercial and product development agreements, as well as intellectual property diligence in mergers, acquisitions, financings, and other strategic transactions. He routinely prepares non-infringement and invalidity opinions and counsels clients on trade secret protection, trademark strategy, copyright considerations, and emerging AI-related IP risks.

Geoff has held senior operating and legal roles across technology-driven companies, including, most recently, serving as chief operating officer at Advanced Construction Robotics, where he grew the value of its intellectual property while managing operations. He also recently served as the chief innovation officer and general counsel at Grouse Ridge Capital, where he identified and evaluated investment opportunities in early-stage companies. In this role, he gained valuable insight into the investment dynamics that shape the commercialization and scaling of start-up companies.

He continues to serve part-time as general counsel and longtime board member at SilcoTek Corporation, a chemical vapor deposition services provider for the semiconductor, analytical instrumentation, life science, and energy industries.
