Adam Koelsch practices in the State and Local Tax subgroup of the McNees Corporate and Tax Practice Group. Adam began his career as a prosecutor in the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office, one of the largest prosecutor’s offices in the country. While there, Adam became a Senior Appellate Attorney, writing and editing appellate briefs and regularly arguing in the New York state appellate courts. Thereafter, Adam moved to Philadelphia, where he represented the City of Philadelphia as a Deputy City Solicitor in the Law Department, Tax Unit, at hearings before the Philadelphia Tax Review Board, and in tax appeals and collection actions in the Court of Common Pleas. Later, as Senior Counsel at the law firm Chamberlain Hrdlicka, and as a Manager at the accounting firm Grant Thornton, Adam represented and advised clients in a variety of state and local tax matters, primarily in Pennsylvania.
