Christian helps clients navigate the rapidly evolving legal landscape of data privacy and AI governance. He serves all types of clients, including small, medium, regional, national, and international businesses, as well as non-profit institutions such as healthcare systems and universities.
He regularly provides counsel on compliance with state and federal privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), wiretap laws, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and other international privacy laws. Additionally, Christian now advises clients on the rapidly evolving law surrounding artificial intelligence, including its risks, benefits, and considerations for use.
Christian is experienced in helping clients anticipate and mitigate risks by developing data security and privacy and AI policies, internal procedures, breach and incident response plans, and data processing addendums for complex, cross-border transactions. He provides guidance to clients on responding to data breaches, ransomware attacks, and other information security incidents. When litigation arises, Christian has experience defending clients in state and federal court, including in commercial breach-of-contract claims, non-compete, non-solicit, and restrictive covenant matters, internal investigations, and grand jury investigations.
Christian also serves on the Board of Directors of the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, and is a member of the Tocqueville Society of the United Way of the Capital Region.
Prior to joining McNees, Christian gained five years of experience as a cybersecurity consultant for global consulting firms Accenture and Deloitte.
