Overview

Jon represents national and regional property developers in zoning and land development matters. He advises clients on the municipal and state approvals needed for major projects.

He advises on projects involving distribution centers, manufacturing, renewable energy generation, multijurisdictional public utility infrastructure, traditional neighborhood developments, and mixed-use and higher-density residential development. Jon works with developers and their consultants to identify approval requirements, address institutional obstacles, mitigate public opposition, and move projects through the approvals process.

Jon co-chairs McNees’ Real Estate Group and serves on the firm’s Professional Personnel Committee.

Outside the firm, Jon is a certified instructor for the Pennsylvania Municipal Planning Education Institute, where he teaches planning commission members, zoning officers, and other municipal officials on zoning, subdivision, and land development matters.

  • Regional developer: Represented client in the approvals process for a 685-unit traditional neighborhood development in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.
  • National energy developer: Represented client in the conversion of a coal-fired power plant to a combined cycle natural gas power plant with 1,124 MW of output in Shamokin Dam, Pennsylvania.
  • Regional developer: Represented the client’s pipeline infrastructure project, providing natural gas liquids transmission services from Washington County, Pennsylvania, to Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
  • Regional solar power generation developer: Represented client as local counsel and financing counsel on numerous projects throughout Pennsylvania.
  • Regional developer: Represented the client of a New Jersey-based convenience store chain of new stores in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, and Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
