Helen is the lead litigation attorney for real estate matters. She represents businesses and commercial property owners in real estate disputes involving municipal zoning and land development rights, title challenges (both surface and subsurface), easement rights and obligations, lease claims and real estate tax appeals. She also represents developers and home builders in construction disputes with homebuyers and subcontractors.
Helen advocates for her clients in matters pending before municipal governing bodies and zoning hearing boards, federal courts, the Pennsylvania Courts of Common Pleas, and the Pennsylvania appellate courts (Commonwealth Court, Superior Court and Supreme Court).
Helen has substantial experience in alternative dispute resolution as both a party advocate and a mediator. Helen currently serves as certified mediator appointed by the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
Prior to focusing her practice in real estate litigation, Helen litigated numerous types of business disputes, in the fields of environmental, employment, tax, contract, business tort, real estate, insurance and construction law. She began her legal practice with a large law firm in Washington D.C. in 1990, and joined McNees in 1996.
Helen is a native of Central Pennsylvania; born and raised in York, Pennsylvania.
