Susan advises businesses and institutions in navigating the complexities of state and federal energy regulation. She focuses on helping clients capitalize on opportunities and mitigate challenges in electric and natural gas markets.
She advises on a wide range of complex transactions, innovative business models, market rule development, regulatory compliance, and litigation. She works regularly with clients in both the public and private sectors on renewable energy transactions, including physical supply facilitated through RTO markets, wholesale and retail behind-the-meter arrangements, and virtual power purchase agreements.
Susan serves a wide range of clients that consume electricity and natural gas, including consumer product manufacturers, steel and cement companies, colleges and universities, and municipal utilities. In the renewable and emerging technologies space, her clients have included solar and battery developers and their off-takers. She translates the complexities of the energy market and regulatory space into actionable guidance, negotiating and preparing bespoke agreements, and securing any necessary approvals.
