HARRISBURG, Pa. — (March 8, 2022) McNees Wallace & Nurick’s Meera Modi will be honored with the YWCA Greater Harrisburg’s 2022 Tribute to Women of Excellence (TWE) Award at a celebration dinner at the Hershey Lodge on Thursday, March 24, 2022.

The honor is a 33-year tradition, celebrating women for their contributions to their region, both professionally and philanthropically. Meera was notably recognized for being a standout attorney and individual leading clients through mergers and acquisitions transactions, mentoring junior attorneys and supporting the community. Meera participates in several organizations, including Operation Medical, Très Bonne Année, the United Way of the Capital Region and the Hindu American Religious Institute. She also serves on the Orrstown Bank Advisory Board for the Capital Region.

“My passion for giving back began at a young age with parents who volunteered often. I’m delighted to be recognized for something that they passed on to me and that I wish to pass on to my children,” said Meera Modi. “For me, it’s gratifying to see my actions make a positive difference whether it be for my clients, colleagues or family.”

As a corporate attorney, Meera works with clients who own and operate businesses across many industries. She said hearing their stories, learning their goals and helping them make their dreams a reality gives her purpose, which is noticed by her colleagues.

“Meera has an ‘it’ factor that clients are drawn to. She has a passion and intensity that she brings to her work, which results in her being extremely invested in her client’s success and outcomes,” said McNees attorney Stephen Gierasch. “You see it in her negotiations, tireless effort and her ability to relate to clients. Our clients are served very well when Meera is quarterbacking their deal.”

Meera spends a considerable amount of time mentoring and training associates. Her approach is described as being a model to junior attorneys in the way she is committed to her clients’ objectives and her ability to provide direct, authentic and thoughtful feedback.

This year Meera was elected to membership status at McNees. In 2020, she was among The Legal Intelligencer’s Lawyers on the Fast Track and was selected to Central Penn Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 list in 2015.
