Trust and estate disputes often arise during administration, when questions about a will or a fiduciary’s decisions begin to surface. Because these matters are tied to family relationships and significant financial interests, the legal issues can quickly become personal. We help clients understand their rights, then develop a path forward that reflects their role and priorities.
We represent individual and corporate fiduciaries. We also advise beneficiaries and other interested parties in contested estate and trust matters.
Our work includes will contests and disputes over the interpretation of trusts. We handle claims involving fiduciary conduct, including surcharge actions. Guardianship proceedings and disputes involving powers of attorney are also part of the practice.
When a will or trust needs to be interpreted or reformed, we help clients pursue the appropriate court relief. We also handle matters involving charitable trusts and private foundations.
Some disputes can be resolved through negotiation or mediation. Others require litigation in Orphans’ Court. We help clients evaluate the risks and choose an approach that fits the circumstances.
These matters may also raise tax questions or involve a closely held business. Real estate can become part of the case as well. When another area of law shapes the dispute, we bring the right attorneys into the strategy early.
