Paul is Co-Chair of the McNees Construction & Procurement Group and a member of the Real Estate and Litigation Groups. He solves problems for businesses, business owners, and executives, focusing his practice on commercial business litigation.

Paul is a speaker and writer with thought leadership in the areas of construction disputes, land use litigation, and complex commercial litigation.

Paul prides himself on providing outstanding client service and has received awards from his clients in that regard.  He has always been focused on being available and responsive to his clients and producing excellent work product and results.

Paul has 21 years of experience providing services to Clients including:

  • Land use appeals and litigation
  • Construction litigation
  • Real estate disputes
  • Handling of arbitrations, mediations, administrative hearings, and trials
  • Represents clients in complex civil litigation matters
  • Business and shareholder disputes
  • Trusts and estates matters
  • Drafting and negotiation of construction contracts
  • Commercial landlord-tenant matters
  • Outside general counsel services

Before joining McNees, Paul was co-managing principal of a law firm primarily serving the mid-Atlantic region. He is most proud of the various land use appeals he handled for developer clients in the Circuit Court for Frederick County, the Maryland Court of Special Appeals, and the Maryland Court of Appeals, resulting in development projects that have greatly benefited Frederick County.

Paul is a staunch community servant:

  • He is a Board Member and Former Chairperson of Heartly House, the only organization in Frederick County that provides comprehensive services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking and child abuse.
  • He serves The Community Foundation of Frederick County as a member of the Board of Trustees, Chair of the Human Resources Committee, and Member of the Governance Committee.
  • He is Chairman of the Legislative Affairs Committee of the Cumberland Valley Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors.
  • Previously, he served as President of The Bar Association of Frederick County; President of Linganore Oakdale Urban Youth Athletic Association; and Member of the Board of Directors of The Arc of Frederick County.
