Derek P. Roussillon, a member of the McNees Litigation and Labor and Employment Groups, maintains a general litigation practice primarily in the areas of commercial and business litigation.

What does Derek do for Clients?
Derek Roussillon is a results-oriented litigator who maintains a broad litigation practice representing businesses across a variety of industries in disputes involving contracts, business torts, corporate governance, real estate, employment disputes and product liability in state and federal courts and arbitration forums.

Prior to joining McNees, Derek worked for an AM Law 200 mid-Atlantic firm, where he:

  • Obtained summary judgment on all counts for an international franchisor against claims of fraud, securities violations and negligence in connection with the federal EB-5 immigration program.
  • Successfully defended a Baltimore-based non-profit company in a class action lawsuit alleging fraud, conspiracy and violations of the Maryland Consumer Protection Act.
  • Obtained a favorable settlement for hospital and management personnel against a lawsuit filed by a terminated employee alleging wrongful discharge, defamation and retaliation.
  • Won partial summary judgment on behalf of a national paint manufacturer and retailer of negligent misrepresentation, Maryland consumer protection, and breach of warranty claims in a home construction defect case.
  • Represented a technology company in a dispute involving the breach of a software licensing agreement, resulting in a favorable settlement for the client.
  • Defended an individual whose former employer sought a temporary restraining order that would preclude her from starting a new job. The temporary restraining order was denied and the settlement was favorable.
  • Conducted an internal investigation for a large non-profit organization stemming from a whistle blower complaint alleging fraud, bid rigging, conflicts of interest and accounting irregularities.

Derek graduated cum laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law where he served as Managing Editor of the University of Baltimore Law Review.

Derek is a volunteer youth basketball and baseball coach.
