Of Counsel
Ross provides guidance and creative strategies to achieve favorable results for his clients, typically in construction law and complex commercial litigation matters. He counsels a variety of businesses, primarily construction contractors, subcontractors, and owners, concerning their rights, obligations, and options in matters arising across the construction industry.
He draws on industry knowledge and experience gained as a civil engineer, providing design, environmental, and construction inspection services prior to attending law school. Combining these skills with his legal training and decades of experience handling and resolving construction matters, Ross advises clients in a multitude of areas, including various project delivery systems, contract negotiation, drafting and analysis, bidding and schedule issues, public and private projects, asserting and defending claims, mechanics’ liens, and payment and performance bonds.
Ross draws on his engineering experience and regular practice before state and federal courts and private dispute-resolution organizations to work collaboratively and creatively with his clients to fully understand and efficiently pursue their desired outcomes. Ross helps his clients find efficient and practical resolutions to difficult issues that arise in the business arena. In addition to representing clients in all aspects of the construction, design, and real estate development industries, Ross handles matters involving commercial contractual disputes, insurance coverage and defense, and environmental and suretyship issues.
Before joining McNees, Ross was a partner with Blumling & Gusky LLP, a Pittsburgh-based boutique construction law firm.
