March 24, 2022
Press Releases

HARRISBURG, Pa. — Devin Chwastyk, chair of McNees Wallace & Nurick’s Privacy & Data Security Group, is providing an overview of the changing landscape for privacy compliance throughout the United States at a conference for CEOs, information technology professionals, compliance and risk officers, operations specialists and other members of the credit union community.

With new state privacy laws taking effect on Jan. 1, 2023, in California, Colorado and Virginia, Chwastyk’s presentation is invaluable – he will summarize recent developments in data breach notification and response requirements as well as review recent decisions under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and New York Department of Financial Services cybersecurity regulations.

The past two years changed the way the financial industry has had to operate. Not only have cyberattacks, financial fraud and data breaches made headlines in the past couple of years, but credit unions have had to put their business continuity plans to the test. Vizo Financial’s Risk Management Conference provides an opportunity to look ahead to hazards credit unions could face in 2022.
