HARRISBURG, Pa. — The McNees Strategic Solutions Group (MSSG) announced today that Kevin Sunday, director of government affairs for the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry (PA Chamber), will join the firm as a policy advisor on Sept. 11.

A seasoned and respected public affairs leader, Sunday will advise business executives, nonprofits and trade associations on navigating a complex and dynamic political and policy environment.

Sunday has been with the PA Chamber since 2014 – first as government affairs manager and, since 2016, as director of government affairs for the state’s largest, broad-based business advocacy association. He managed advocacy for the PA Chamber’s energy, environmental, technology and infrastructure portfolios. Sunday previously worked as a strategic communications consultant for a Harrisburg-based public advocacy firm and before that was deputy press secretary for the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.

“Kevin brings with him a deep well of knowledge and experience managing a wide range of complex legislative and regulatory issues, as well as the trust of leaders in government on both sides of the aisle and throughout the private sector,” said Drew Crompton, co-chair of MSSG, an affiliate of McNees Wallace & Nurick. “He has a track record of delivering results through a thoughtful and effective mix of public affairs strategies, which is exactly what our clients have come to expect from our team.”

In his role with the PA Chamber, Sunday successfully helped to secure passage of statewide environmental legislation, and he helped shape various energy and environmental regulations. He also has testified and provided comments on regulatory and legislative matters to various state and federal agencies – including the U.S. House and Senate, the Pennsylvania General Assembly, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, among others.

His leadership in these issues was recently recognized by City & State Pennsylvania, which named him to its 2023 Energy & Environment Power 100 list.

At MSSG, Sunday will advise clients on policy matters and will help develop public affairs strategies to help meet their goals.
