Claudia Shank receives Building Award from Lancaster Building Industry Association

Real estate attorney Claudia Shank received the 2025 Building Award from the Building Industry Association of Lancaster County (BIA). The award honors members of the association who support efforts in building quality housing, strong relationships, and a positive impact for the residential construction community in Lancaster.
As outgoing president of the BIA, Claudia guided the organization through a period of strategic planning and growth, expanding their impact throughout Lancaster and strengthening relationships between residents and industry partners. In 2024, Claudia was named BIA’s Attorney of the Year for her collaborative approach to land use and negotiations.
She believes effective advocacy begins with problem-solving and consensus-building, often working with adverse parties such as municipalities and state permitting agencies to achieve practical solutions, while remaining a tireless advocate for her clients’ interests when an amicable resolution is not possible.
Claudia’s practice focuses on representing individuals and developers before municipalities in land use and permitting matters. She also assists her clients in obtaining zoning relief, including variance, special exception, and conditional use approvals. Claudia was recently named as a co-managing member-in-charge of the firm’s Lancaster office, alongside construction attorney Ashley Nicols Weber.
