Profile

Chris Merrill is a real estate attorney with a focus on representing owners and managers of residential and commercial real estate throughout Maryland, including multifamily apartment complexes, residential rental properties, retail, office and industrial buildings, as well as homeowners associations (HOAs), condominiums and community associations.

As a real estate investor and licensed real estate broker, Chris relies heavily on his real-world experience to deliver practical and efficient results for his clients. His representation includes litigating landlord/tenant matters and other real estate-related disputes, advising clients regarding Fair Housing issues and defending clients against claims of discrimination. He also acts as counsel to both buyers and sellers of residential and commercial real estate.

Before joining McNees, Chris was a principal at Sagal, Filbert, Quasney & Betten, P.A., a Towson-based boutique real estate law firm. Prior to that, he was an attorney with another Maryland-based law firm where he focused on real estate matters. He was also previously a settlement attorney for a regional title company.
