HARRISBURG, PA (September 27, 2016) – Not even three quarters into the 2016 fiscal year, the Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) group at McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC has assisted clients in over $2.5 billion in merger and acquisition transactions.

The Central Pennsylvania-based law firm announced the figure Wednesday.

With 18 attorneys working in mergers and acquisitions – the most in the area, according to the Central Penn Business Journal – the group is experienced in representing both purchasers and sellers in stock transactions, asset transactions, and tax-free and taxable mergers and reorganizations. The firm is particularly sensitive to balancing the business and personal issues involved in purchase and sale transactions, especially those involving family businesses.

McNees Chairman David Kleppinger attributes the increase in the M&A activity to robust deal flow domestically and internationally.

“Coming off a record year for mergers and acquisitions, an overwhelming majority of executives at U.S. corporations and private equity firms forecast that deal activity will stay strong or even ramp up. Our team works in a wide variety of industries on merger or acquisition transactions that include components of real estate, tax, labor and employment, intellectual property rights, and environmental issues,” the Chairman said. “We have attorneys focused in each of these important areas.”

The Mergers & Acquisitions group is led by co-chairs, Brad Gunnison and Tim Finnerty.
