Katherine Takhounts Bonato joins McNees in Frederick

FREDERICK, Md. (Oct. 24, 2025) — McNees Wallace & Nurick today announced the continued expansion of its Maryland team with the addition of Katherine Takhounts Bonato to the firm’s Frederick office.
Bonato joins the firm’s Real Estate Group, supporting clients with a range of transactional and business matters, including real estate sales and development, commercial leasing, mergers and acquisitions, business planning and general corporate work.
Before joining McNees, Bonato worked with title companies in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C., where she handled all aspects of residential and commercial real estate closings – including title settlement transactions.
“Katherine’s experience gives her a unique perspective into what it takes to make a deal work and enhances our ability to serve clients across Maryland’s evolving real estate market,” said Paul Rose, member attorney in McNees’ Frederick office and in the firm’s Real Estate Group.
Bonato earned her law degree from American University Washington College of Law and her bachelor’s degree in economics from Yerevan State University in Yerevan, Armenia. A native of Armenia, she is fluent in three languages: English, Armenian and Russian.
Bonato is the fifth attorney to join McNees’ Maryland team this year, reflecting the firm’s commitment to growing its client services in the state from both its Frederick and Towson offices.
