White collar defense attorneys Sarah Hyser-Staub and Erik Anderson have been ranked in Legal 500’s White Collar Crime series of the publication’s Elite City Focus for Philadelphia.

Each year, Legal 500 selects leading attorneys and firms by region and practice area to include in its Elite City Focus ranking. Honorees are chosen based on peer recommendations and publicly available coverage. Their inclusion on the inaugural list for White Collar Defense in Philadelphia underscores Sarah and Erik’s reputation for handling high-stakes and high-profile matters.

As chair of the firm’s White Collar Defense, Public Corruption & Investigation Group, Sarah guides businesses and individuals through complicated investigations and crises. She defends cases brought by the U.S. Department of Justice (USDOJ), the PA Office of Attorney General, the PA State Ethics Commission, and numerous other federal, state, and local agencies. She also provides guidance on compliance and conducts internal investigations.

Erik brings two decades of experience spanning senior government counsel roles and private practice to his white collar defense work. As former Deputy Chief Counsel to the PA General Assembly and former Deputy Attorney General, he has advised public officials, business executives, and corporate entities in complex matters before state and federal bodies. Erik represents clients in federal grand jury investigations, USDOJ enforcement proceedings, and criminal prosecutions, and counsels businesses on internal investigations involving fraud, misconduct, and regulatory compliance.

McNees’ White Collar Group has deep experience advising clients through the most sensitive matters they face, from the moment a federal subpoena arrives through resolution. The group regularly handles matters involving the USDOJ, FBI, IRS, PA Attorney General, PA State Ethics Commission, and PA Inspector General, and is equipped to manage the intersection of legal, reputational, and regulatory risk that defines government investigations.
