Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) Overtime Regulations
September 28, 2016
Attorney Mark Hipple of McNees Wallace & Nurick will give a presentation on the new Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime regulations on September 28, 2016 at the Lancaster Farm & Home Center.
The event is sponsored by the PennAg Industries Association and is open to the public.
The new rule updating overtime regulations was announced by President Barack Obama and Secretary of Labor Thomas E. Perez in May and it will go into effect on December 1, 2016. The Final Rule focuses primarily on updating the salary and compensation levels needed for Executive, Administrative and Professional workers to be exempt, while extending overtime pay protections to over 4 million workers within the first year of implementation.
Hipple will discuss the new rule with members of the PennAg Industries Association and various agricultural businesses and how it will affect businesses in the region.
Admission to the event is $5 for PennAg members and $10 for non-members and includes admission to the meeting and lunch, catered by Hess’s Barbeque Catering.
