Veteran Local Government Professional Joins McNees, Keystone Municipal Solutions

HARRISBURG, Pa. – (February 1, 2022) McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC today announced the addition of accomplished local government professional David W. Kratzer, Jr., to the McNees Strategic Solutions Group, the firm’s full-service government affairs, grassroots advocacy and non-profit consulting team.

Kratzer will also serve as managing consultant of Keystone Municipal Solutions, a subsidiary launched in 2021 to provide municipalities with interim management and professional consulting services. Its professionals serve municipalities across Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey.

KMS offers a range of services customized to fit the needs of municipalities experiencing leadership transitions or other management challenges. In addition to temporary manager services, Keystone Municipal Solutions offers manager recruitment, training, professional development and mentoring services; special project assistance; strategic management consulting; and consulting for human resources, budget and finance, police operations and regionalization or shared services efforts.

Kratzer leverages his public sector experience and network to benefit his clients and has a scalable, entrepreneurial, progressive and sustainable approach to the provision of government services. He has a background in virtually all functional areas of local government, including public finance; land use and planning; labor and employment; community engagement and branding; and strategic planning.

Before joining McNees, David spent 15 years serving three Pennsylvania townships. As the township manager of Susquehanna Township in Dauphin County most recently, he led the operations with a municipal staff of nearly 75 employees and managed an annual budget of approximately $30 million. David also served as township manager and assistant township manager of Penn Township and Warwick Township, respectively, in Lancaster County.
