HARRISBURG, Pa. – (September 7, 2021) McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC is pleased to announce the addition of skilled trial attorney M. Abbegael Giunta to its Harrisburg office, where she joins the firm’s Labor and Employment and Public Finance & Government Services Groups.

Giunta leverages more than 15 years of experience representing public- and private-sector employers — including business owners and state governments — in a broad range of labor and employment matters to establish trusting relationships with her clients. She offers keen advice and develops aggressive and efficient strategies that best align with her clients’ legal goals.

With an extensive background litigating intricate issues in state and federal courts, including the defense of civil rights, employment matters, and constitutional challenges, Giunta has deep confidence in the courtroom. She has argued before the Pennsylvania Commonwealth, Superior, and Supreme Courts as well as acted as lead counsel in state and federal court bench and jury trials.

“I look forward to transitioning the skills I gained while practicing law for the Commonwealth to focus on representing employers in all facets of their relationships with employees at the standard of excellence to which I hold myself,” Giunta said. “Practicing in the Labor and Employment Group at McNees and being a part of its collaborative approach will allow me to better help both private and government employers.”

Giunta’s practice focuses on counseling clients in litigation avoidance while achieving their business objectives as well as defending clients in litigation claims under the Family Medical Leave Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, in addition to other federal, state, and local laws. She additionally is a certified mediator for the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, with areas of expertise including employment law, constitutional law, civil litigation, and environmental law.

Prior to joining McNees, Giunta served as Deputy General Counsel to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Governor’s Office for four years and Deputy Attorney General in the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General for 11 years.
