Retired State Police Association of Pennsylvania Recognizes McNees for Pro Bono Work

HARRISBURG, PA (September 29, 2016) – The Retired State Police Association of Pennsylvania presented awards to McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC as well as the firm’s attorney, Andrew S. Rusniak, for pro bono work at its 61st annual banquet on Saturday, September 24.

Attorneys from McNees Wallace & Nurick were recognized by the Retired State Police Association for assisting it with revising outdated bylaws and other administrative matters. Rusniak was presented with a plaque at the awards banquet and Jim DeAngelo, a member of McNees Wallace & Nurick, accepted a plaque on behalf of the firm.

DeAngelo is Chair of the firm’s Litigation Group. He joined the firm as a business litigator in 1992 after his clerkship with the Pennsylvania Superior Court. Holding a long-time interest in pro bono service and in the delivery of legal services to the poor, Jim has served as Chair of the Dauphin County Bar Association’s Public Service Committee since 1997. He is also a leader in three civil legal aid programs; Community Justice Project, MidPenn Legal Services, and Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network. He has dedicated numerous hours of pro bono legal advice to individuals and families in the Central Pennsylvania community.

Rusniak is a member of the firm’s Estate Planning and Corporate & Tax practice groups and has extensive experience in the formation and operation of non-profit entities, including private foundations, public charities, supporting organizations and other tax-exempt organizations. He works out of the firm’s Lancaster and Harrisburg offices.
