Kate W. Millikan is a member of the Real Estate and Construction Groups. Kate concentrates her practice in property acquisition, commercial and retail lease negotiation, land use matters, and large-scale residential and commercial development, particularly in the development of logistics facilities, planned communities and commercial condominium or mixed-use projects.

Kate’s knowledge and experience includes a thorough understanding of the preliminary and final stages of any development, including:

  • Zoning concerns;
  • Ordinance Amendments;
  • MPC and SALDO compliance;
  • Special Exemptions;
  • Variance and Conditional Use; and
  • Negotiating, analyzing, and preparing all documents relating to property acquisition and development approval.

Her core understanding of land use matters enables her to effectively advise and assist developers in the creation of large scale residential planned communities, condominiums, commercial developments, industrial complexes and mixed-use projects.

Kate reviews and approaches real estate transaction matters in a practical manner, with a goal of limiting her clients’ liability, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, and meeting the clients’ objectives.

What does Kate do for Clients?
Kate’s background includes representing national and regional clients in leasing matters, real estate acquisitions, and negotiating or preparing agreements in connection with:

  • Warehouses and industrial complexes;
  • Office and Commercial centers;
  • Age-restricted residential communities (otherwise known as 55+ communities);
  • Multifaceted mixed-use condominiums and planned communities (featuring a wide variety of multifamily housing options, single family homes, commercial retail establishments, and recreational facilities);
  • Master association developments; and
  • Redevelopment projects.

Kate has been practicing real estate law since 2015. Before rejoining McNees, she worked for a firm that ranked among the top 50 law firms in the United States, where her work primarily focused on the development and sale of logistics facilities and mixed-use projects.

How does Kate spend her free time?
Kate is a lifelong resident of Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, and enjoys spending her free time gardening, playing golf, and riding her horse.
