Ellie Dougherty is a transactional real estate attorney with over two decades of experience providing legal guidance and assistance to individuals, businesses and entities involved in buying, selling or leasing real property. She specializes in navigating legally challenging transactional matters – especially those related to the retail and telecommunications industries – and with contract negotiations and development of contract language related to:

  • Leasing, licensing and acquisitions
  • Easements and rights of way
  • Subordination, non-disturbance and attornment agreements (SNDAs), estoppels and Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
  • Building and zoning of commercial, retail and telecommunications facilities nationwide

Transactional and Real Estate

Leveraging 20 years of experience with contract negotiation, development and closing, Ellie is skilled at handling virtually all matters relating to commercial transactional and real estate law. The broad range of projects and services she advises clients on includes:

  • Contract negotiation, development, review and closing of commercial leases, licenses, amendments, easements and rights of way
  • Preparation of commercial contracts, such as advertising, human resources, marketing, telecommunications and information technology agreements
  • Reviewing and providing opinions on zoning, survey materials and title compilation reports

Prior Experience

Ellie previously worked as in-house counsel with a real estate investment trust and the nation’s largest provider of shared communications infrastructure. She also has 15 years of experience handling legal and business matters for the telecommunications industry, including wireless carriers T-Mobile, Verizon and AT&T and Philadelphia-area law firms. Prior to that, she was counsel to a Fortune 500 Company and then-largest video game retailer in the world.

Her experience extends to corporate law, through which she provided business team clients with services including reviewing, drafting and negotiating assignments, guarantee agreements, letters of intent, option agreements, termination and release of leases, SNDAs, NDAs and estoppels. Ellie also advised, counseled and trained business team partners on matters related to portfolio assets, real estate, interference, business decisions, equipment and telecommunications, as well as evaluated legal and business risks associated with real estate, portfolio assets, customer retention, construction, zoning, permitting, title and asset management.
