Two Attorneys to Present at the Pennsylvania Association of Zoning Officials Seminar

HARRISBURG, Pa. – (April 19, 2018) McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC Attorneys Jon Andrews and Jamie Strong are scheduled to present two sessions at the Pennsylvania Association of Zoning Officials Seminar. It will be held at Hershey Lodge (Magnolia C) on Sunday, April 22, 2018. The event starts at 9:30 a.m. with registration.

The first session titled “New and Trending Municipal Land Use Issues” will inform zoning officers of how to avoid ordinance enforcement issues when it comes to drones, agritourism and short-term rentals. It will also help these officers identify issues with their ordinances.

The second session titled “Avoiding MPC Pitfalls” will point out often overlooked provisions of the Municipalities Planning Code, involving zoning, subdivision and land development.

Jon is co-chair of the McNees Real Estate Group and practices in the Eminent Domain, Oil & Natural Gas and Pipeline & Oil/Gas Infrastructure Groups. He has experience in handling all forms of zoning relief, including special exceptions and conditional use. He also advises clients on requests for zoning amendments and challenges to existing ordinances. As a certified instructor for the Pennsylvania Municipal Planning Education Institute, he instructs planning commission members, zoning officers and other municipal officials on zoning matters.

Jamie practices in the McNees Real Estate Group. He primarily represents wireless telecommunications providers and tower companies in land use and leasing matters. He advises his clients in zoning and land use proceedings before municipal planning commissions, governing bodies and zoning hearing boards throughout Pennsylvania. He also represents clients in the acquisition, sale, development and leasing of real estate.
