McNees’ BD&M Team to Speak at Annual LMA Conference

HARRISBURG, PA – The Business Development & Marketing team at McNees Wallace & Nurick will serve as presenters at the 17th annual Legal Marketing Association Annual Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Iris Jones and Danyel Patrick will be presenting “Five Steps Toward Bridging the Generational Gap in Law Firms,” on Wednesday, March 29 at the Aria Resort from 11 a.m. to noon. The duo from McNees will be joined by Nicole Abboud, a Los Angeles-based consultant, and podcaster at Abboud Media.

The presentation will offer insights into how multiple generations receive and deliver information through verbal and non-verbal communications. The panel, featuring a Baby Boomer, a Gen Xer, and a Millennial, will present real-life scenarios on how to effectively overcome generational differences while serving and supporting client teams, preparing for client visits, and collaborating on Requests for Proposals to better serve the firm.

Topics include:
•    How to identify and raise awareness of generational differences
•    How to improve communication and active listening skills between generations
•    Best practices for accommodating the needs and values of different generations
•    How to find the balance between building on traditional practices and supporting flexibility and creativity
•    How to work more effectively in teams by addressing generational differences
Jones serves as McNees’ Chief Business Development & Marketing Officer. She leads the firm’s business development and marketing team which delivers proactive service and high-level support to the firm and its attorneys. She works closely with firm management and attorneys to expand business by strengthening relationships with existing clients and developing relationships with new clients.

She serves on the firm’s Diversity Committee, Professional and Personal Development Committee (PPDC) and the Future’s Committee.

Jones is also a member of the State Bar of Texas and is a member of the Legal Marketing Association, and has served as a panelist at LMA Annual conferences and LMA Chapter events.

Patrick is a Business Development Coordinator at McNees.

Patrick coaches attorneys and practice group leaders on developing unique strategies for capturing new business and strengthening client relationships. She assists attorneys with responses to requests for proposals and other business development opportunities. She oversees the firm’s CRM system and provides training on best practices for utilizing CRM as a business development differentiator. Patrick is an LMA member and has served as a panelist for the LMA Philadelphia Chapter.
