HARRISBURG, Pa. – (January 29, 2019) McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC attorney Mark Van Blargan is slated to participate in two panel discussions at the Project Management for Lawyers 2019 conference hosted by the Practising Law Institute in New York City on Wednesday, February 6, 2019.

The first session “Success Stories in Legal Project Management: New Approaches for Managing Matters and Changing Cultures” will focus on how to manage matters, enhance performance and demonstrate return on investment in collaboration with other legal department resources, including pricing, procurement, technology, business development and practice management.

The second panel, “Applying LPM in Smaller Legal Departments and Law Firms – It Applies to All Types of Law Practice, Large or Small” will discuss how to cost-effectively implement LPM techniques on a smaller scale.

As Member in Charge of Innovation, Mark is at the forefront of the firm’s LPM adoption.  “I believe we are the first firm of our size and geographic reach to employ a dedicated LPM professional,” said Mark.  “Embracing LPM will provide greater value, improve communication and build stronger, more open relationships with our clients in our quest to meet their business and legal goals.”

As an outgrowth of the firm’s long-term strategic planning, McNees has dedicated resources to LPM and uses the approach throughout its various practice groups and departments to increase efficiency and improve profitability for both the firm and its clients.  Our LPM works directly with lawyers and billing team to develop responses to RFPs and alternative pricing structures, and in the execution of tasks associated with legal projects.

Mark is Vice Chair of McNees, Chair of the Healthcare Practice Group and a member of the Education Law Practice Group.  He focuses on serving large healthcare providers and colleges and universities.
