McNees Attorney Denise E. Elliott Presented “Workers’ Compensation Benefits Web”

Harrisburg, PA (July 30, 2015) – McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC attorney Denise E. Elliott presented “Worker’s Compensation Benefits Web: Handling Workers Compensation Claims Without Creating Additional Employment Law Claims” for the Hartman Group from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29.

The event took place at Celebration Hall, 2280 Commercial Blvd., State College, PA 16801. The program was designed to provide employers with an understanding of all benefits available to the workers’ compensation claimant and to equip employers with the tools to eliminate double dipping, return employees to work and decrease the potential exposure of other employment law claims.

As a member of the McNees Labor and Employment practice group, Denise focuses her practice on defending self-insured employers in workers’ compensation matters and providing representation and counsel to clients in employment discrimination litigation, ADA/FMLA compliance and safety and health issues.

In addition to her recent election to the Board for Girls on the Run Lancaster, Elliott served on the Board of Directors of the Hands-on House Children’s Museum for six years, including one year as Chair and is a coach for Girls on the Run.  Currently, Denise serves as a classroom volunteer for Junior Achievement of Central PA, as a mentor/facilitator for the Junior Achievement Young Women’s Futures Symposium and on the parent School Board at St. Anne School, where she chairs the Facilities Committee.  Denise is a 2009 graduate of Leadership Lancaster.

Denise received her J.D. from Temple University, James E. Beasley School of Law and her undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware.  She is a frequent speaker on workers’ compensation and employment law topics and has been named a 2014 Select Lawyer. She is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and before the Federal District Courts in the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania and U.S. Supreme Court. She is also a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Lancaster Bar Association, where she served as past Chair of the Workers’ Compensation Section.
