Press Releases

HARRISBURG, Pa. – (September 4, 2018) McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC has acquired The Winter Group, one of the most effective and prestigious government relations firms in the state. The Winter Group will operate as the McNees-Winter Group LLC along with the existing McNees subsidiaries, Community Networking Resources LLC, Mid-Atlantic Strategic Solutions, Capital Associates LLC and Helix LLC. This addition, effective on August 31, 2018, follows the firm’s acquisition of Capital Associates earlier this year.

The McNees-Winter Group’s main mission is to solve problems for its clients and provide straightforward consulting, constant communication and old-fashioned hard work to help them reach their business goals. It offers a wide variety of services including management consulting and strategy, technical consulting and presentations, public relations, and PAC consulting and management.

“The addition of The Winter Group and its outstanding portfolio of clients and relationships further enhances the depth and quality of McNees’ government relations, lobbying, grassroots and non-profit foundation representations in Pennsylvania and Ohio,” said McNees Chairman, David Kleppinger. “Our collective clients will be the primary beneficiaries as they will have access to 20 government relations and nonprofit professionals as well as our 130 attorneys resident in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Washington, D.C./Frederick, Maryland.”

The Winter Group was founded in February 2005 by Mark Singel, who was Pennsylvania’s Lieutenant Governor from 1987 to 1995 and for a short period of time served as Acting Governor. Mark and his team provide services to clients in retail, hospitality and gaming, manufacturing, technology, energy, non-profits and health care. While Mark is vacating his position as President of The Winter Group, he will continue as a consultant to the McNees-Winter Group and its clients.

“I can’t imagine a better fit than McNees Wallace & Nurick and the Winter Group,” said Mark Singel. “This new team is a solid group of professionals with the experience and contacts to provide a new level of service for all of our clients.”
