RADNOR, Pa. (July 15, 2025) — McNees Wallace & Nurick today announced that Kayla Bushey has joined the firm’s Radnor office, where she will support clients with legal issues pertaining to privacy compliance, data breach response, and privacy and cybersecurity litigation.

Bushey brings experience in legal research and privacy policy analysis, with a focus on U.S. and international data privacy frameworks. Most recently, she served as a Westin Research Fellow at the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), where she contributed to research publications and internal resources addressing global privacy developments. She also worked with the Future of Privacy Forum, assisting in the evaluation of student privacy policies and summarizing state-level privacy requirements.

Her legal experience includes internships with the Federal Communications Commission’s Space Bureau, the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Culpeper Circuit Court.

With Bushey’s addition, McNees has quadrupled its Philadelphia-area legal team from three to 12 attorneys since first opening in Devon in February 2021. This rapid growth prompted the firm to move to a larger office in Radnor earlier this year.

Bushey also expands the practice areas served from the Radnor office, adding the firm’s first Philadelphia-area privacy and data security attorney to its roster.

“Kayla brings a thoughtful and research-driven approach to our Privacy & Data Security team,” said Devin Chwastyk, co-chair of the group. “Her academic background and hands-on exposure to key regulatory issues will benefit clients navigating today’s evolving data privacy landscape.”

Bushey earned her law degree from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, where she completed the Law and Technology Institute Certificate and was awarded a Public Policy Fellowship by the Squire Patton Boggs Foundation. She holds a bachelor’s degree in global studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
