Esports Industry Leaders to Address Legitimacy at McNees, Harrisburg University and Whitaker Center Esports Seminar

HARRISBURG, Pa. – (July 30, 2018) Esports legitimacy will be a key topic at the McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC, Harrisburg University and Whitaker Center Esports Seminar on September 7, 2018. The event will take place at Whitaker Center in Harrisburg from 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.

Discussing the legitimacy of esports will be Chad Smeltz and Geoff Wang of Harrisburg University, as well as David Ellis of Continuant/Ellis Pro Media.

Chad Smeltz is the Esports Program Director at Harrisburg University. Smeltz, a Harrisburg native, spent years as an esports coach for teams across the country, including League of Legends teams Phoenix1 and Team8 in Los Angeles, California.

Geoff Wang is the Esports Head Coach at Harrisburg University. Wang is a world-ranked gamer and esports coach. During his time attending the University of Minnesota, he helped form the college’s official esports program.

David Ellis is the CEO and Founder of Ellis Pro Media, which recently merged with Continuant. Together the companies can reach new markets and expand their level of expertise in AV solutions and managed services. From his experience as a business leader and respected technologist, Ellis has a strong understanding of the evolving critical role technology plays in facilitating communication.

The seminar, led by the McNees Esports Practice Group, will also cover esports’ role in higher education, team ownership, gambling, and investment & sponsorship opportunities.

Registration for the Esports Seminar costs $99. On-site registration and continental breakfast will be from 8:15 a.m. to 9 a.m. Lunch will be sponsored by the Pennsylvania Esports Coalition.
