2026 summer law clerks reflect on their time with McNees

Press Releases
This summer, several law students joined attorneys and professionals at the firm to gain a hands-on experience in the life and practice of an attorney.
These students spent their summer in three of the firm’s offices, working alongside attorneys in practices including corporate and tax, estate planning, labor and employment, and litigation. With them, the clerks brought a new, eager perspective to their client work and demonstrated the diversity, creativity, and strength of the next generation of legal professionals.
Before departing, we asked some of our summer law clerks to share insights and lessons they learned from their clerkships, as well as advice for future clerks. Here is what they had to say:
Wyatt Beddow – Widener University Commonwealth Law School | Harrisburg | Labor and Employment
“I’m extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to work with McNees’ Labor and Employment Group. It was a very enjoyable summer filled with interesting and challenging work, fun activities, and most of all, great people.”
Avery Cloud – Widener University Commonwealth Law School | Harrisburg | General Assignments
“My main takeaway would be to hold yourself to the standard now that you aspire to be as an established professional. Throughout this internship, I’ve consistently seen myself as an established professional attorney because that is what I aspire to be. As this was my first legal internship experience, I made it my job to take every project available, receive as much constructive feedback as possible, and observe the actions of the attorneys around me to see how to carry myself or interact with clients, etc.”
Alexis Jabara – Penn State Dickinson Law | Harrisburg | Litigation and Corporate & Tax
“I loved being part of a firm that provides challenge but structure, independence but guidance, and opportunity but meaning. I can’t thank the talented McNees attorneys and professionals enough for providing me with the space to learn and grow. Thank you for another great summer internship!”
Jack Reader – Penn State Dickinson Law | Lancaster | Estate Planning
“This summer was filled with new experiences, new faces, new assignments, and a new environment, but it all felt like a homecoming.”
Elizabeth Stehr – University of Pittsburgh School of Law | Pittsburgh | Estate Planning
“My time so far at McNees has been incredibly valuable, allowing me to expand on what I’ve learned in law school with practical experience both in and out of the courtroom. Getting exposure to substantive legal work as a law clerk has been a valuable experience for me as a rising 3L! I’m grateful for the opportunity to work on substantive legal issues as a summer law clerk at McNees.”
Thank you to each of our summer clerks for your hard work and unique perspectives. To learn more about McNees’ clerkships and opportunities for students, please visit the Careers section of our website.
