Kate has been with McNees since 2010, serving as the Director of Information Services since 2011 with the responsibility of managing the legal information resources at the firm. Kate supervises a team of professional librarians who make up the McNees Information Center, providing a range of research and reference resources including legal and business research, competitive intelligence, new business intake and due diligence research, current awareness services and the administration of the legal information databases. Kate especially enjoys collaborating with the firm’s other administrative departments on business development research, risk management and knowledge management projects.
Kate brings a strong background in academic research and information science to her position. In addition to a Master’s of Library Science, her degrees in Ancient Near Eastern Languages introduced her to the love of research and the skill to find information quickly. Kate stays active in her field through involvement in relevant professional organizations, including speaking and moderating sessions at the 2015 AALL Annual Meeting and currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Chapter of SLA.
