McNees’ Scott Gould Named Pennsylvania Bar Association Environment & Energy Law Section Chair

HARRISBURG, Pa. — (March 16, 2022) McNees Wallace & Nurick attorney Scott Gould was named chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Environment & Energy Law Section at the section’s annual meeting held during the Pennsylvania Bar Institute Environmental Law Forum.

During his two-year term, Gould will work with the section’s other 12 council members to explore laws at all levels of government related to the environment, energy, ecology and mineral and natural resources; facilitate discussions between member attorneys and the agencies that administer related regulations; promote the education of the next generation of environmental lawyers; and further the collegiality among the environmental bar in Pennsylvania. He served on the section’s council for eight years prior to this appointment.

Gould is co-chair of McNees’ Energy and Environmental Law Group and has lead McNees’ Environmental Law & Toxic Tort practice for 25 years. The team of 16 attorneys and four professionals collaborates with clients and other McNees practices, connecting resources from across the firm and its subsidiary companies to solve issues spanning the full spectrum of  environmental and energy matters from permitting, compliance and due diligence through remediation and litigation. The group also provides counsel in addressing the business, regulatory and legal needs of industrial users of energy and alternative energy producers, nimbly navigating the ever-changing legal and regulatory landscape’s effect on the marketplace.

Leveraging his depth of experience, Gould provides insightful environmental counsel to clients across the environmental, oil, natural gas, renewable energy, corporate sustainability, food, beverage and pipeline and infrastructure industries. He has longstanding relationships with regulators at the local, state, regional and federal levels and provides both practical and progressive counsel to meet clients’ needs.
