LANCASTER, Pa. (Sept. 15, 2025) — McNees Wallace & Nurick continues to expand its Lancaster office with the addition of Ryan MacDonald, an experienced trial lawyer and the fifth attorney to join the firm’s Lancaster office this year.
MacDonald focuses his practice on commercial litigation, representing businesses, shareholders and executives in disputes involving corporate control, contracts and business torts. He has served as lead and co-counsel in high-stakes matters across Pennsylvania and in federal courts, securing multimillion-dollar verdicts and settlements in shareholder, trade secret and financial fraud cases.
In addition to his commercial practice, MacDonald advises trustees, estates and guardians in fiduciary and guardianship disputes before Pennsylvania’s Orphans’ Courts. His broader experience includes representing nonprofits, healthcare providers and local businesses in regulatory and reimbursement disputes, charities investigations and risk management counseling.
“Ryan’s arrival adds to the strong momentum we are building in the Litigation Group,” said Stephanie Carfley, co-chair of the Litigation Group. “Our litigation team has been growing with talented attorneys who bring diverse experiences and skills. Ryan’s background in complex commercial disputes will be a real asset to our clients and to our team.”
MacDonald said the firm’s reputation and collaborative culture drew him to McNees.
“I was drawn to McNees because of the caliber of the attorneys and the collaborative way they approach their work,” MacDonald said. “The firm has a strong reputation for client service and community commitment, and I am excited to contribute to the growth of the litigation team.”
Before joining McNees, MacDonald practiced commercial and business litigation with a Lancaster-based firm. He began his legal career as a law clerk with the Honorable Aida Waserstein of the Delaware Family Court. He received his law degree from Rutgers Law School and his bachelor’s degree from Temple University.
MacDonald is the latest addition to McNees’ Lancaster office, joining Amara Riley, Ian Brinkman, Thomas Davies and Veronica L. Morrison – all of whom joined the firm this year, bringing the headcount in Lancaster to 25 attorneys.
