Community engagement is not an occasional activity. It is part of our identity. For decades, our teams have given time and resources where it matters most. Pro bono work, nonprofit partnerships, and volunteerism are essential.

Our commitment shows up in many ways: long-standing partnerships such as United Way of the Capital Region, participation in community-wide events like the Lancaster Extra Give, and firm-led initiatives such as our Legal Equity Advancement Program (LEAP). Collectively, McNees team members support hundreds of organizations each year across our footprint, reflecting the same spirit that has guided us for 90 years.

Spotlight on service

United Way: decades of shared commitment

Our partnership with United Way of the Capital Region spans decades. In 1996, McNees employees pledged $10,548 to support United Way’s mission. Over the years since, that number rose to $322,926 in 2024, bringing our lifetime total to over $4.4 million. These figures represent more than dollars, they reflect the sustained generosity of our people, year after year, in support of vital community programs.

That commitment has also been reflected in leadership. Brian Jackson, our Chair, served as a campaign chair for United Way, helping to strengthen ties between the business community and the organization’s mission. In recognition of this ongoing partnership, McNees has received the Excellence in Leadership Award from the United Way, honoring our creative contributions, time, and resources that demonstrate exceptional support.
