HARRISBURG, Pa. (Sept. 5, 2025) — McNees Wallace & Nurick has completed a month-long fundraising campaign to support the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank (CPFB) and help fight hunger among residents experiencing food insecurity in Central Pennsylvania. The July campaign raised $17,734.20, enough to provide nearly 71,000 meals, making it the largest peer-to-peer fundraiser on record for the food bank.

The Central Pennsylvania Food Bank is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending hunger across 27 counties. Through a network of more than 1,130 partner agencies and programs, it serves over 253,000 people each month from Healthy Food Hubs in Harrisburg and Williamsport. Its mission is simple yet urgent: fighting hunger, improving lives, and strengthening communities.

According to the CPFB, one in nine Pennsylvanians faces food insecurity. For children, the need is even greater, with one in seven experiencing hunger regularly. Summer months are especially challenging, as many children lose access to school-based food programs, increasing their risk of going without consistent nourishment.

To help meet this need, the McNees REACH Committee, which stands for Relationships Enriched through Appreciation, Core Values, and Health, led the firm’s internal fundraising campaign. McNees attorney Christian Wolgemuth, a member of the CPFB Finance and Operations Committee, and the REACH Committee inspired firmwide participation throughout July.

“The fight against hunger takes all of us,” said Wolgemuth. “I am proud to see so many from McNees share what they can to support the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank’s work and help our neighbors facing food insecurity.”

“At McNees, giving back is part of who we are,” said Christina Duty, REACH Committee co-chair. “Our team showed incredible generosity during this campaign, and we are proud to support the CPFB’s mission and the communities we serve.”

This initiative builds on McNees’ ongoing collaboration with CPFB, which includes volunteer events, food drives, and earlier fundraising efforts. The REACH Committee also leads the firm’s year-round commitment to community involvement and employee appreciation.
