Data privacy and security attorney Kayla Bushey presented on an IAPP panel discussion on August 4, exploring the risks and uncertainties of U.S. data privacy litigation.
She was joined by William Simpson of IAPP and Matt Pearson of Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz PC, where they discussed private litigation trends in the data privacy realm, including class-action lawsuits and private rights of action under the California Invasion of Privacy Act, the federal Wiretap Act, and the California Consumer Privacy Act.
Kayla supports clients with regulatory compliance, artificial intelligence governance, and cross-border data transfer issues. Her work focuses on data privacy law across federal, state, and international frameworks, with a particular emphasis on children’s privacy, student data protections, and emerging AI policies.
