At the 2025 Estate Law Institute, hosted by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, McNees attorneys Alison Smith, Kendra McGuire, Courtney Wentzel, and Cara Mia Pinto will join the region’s judges, attorneys, and professionals for two days of presentations and discussions on the strategies and challenges in trusts and estates, guardianships, and other fiduciary topics in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Alison Smith joins Chief Deputy AG Eugene Herne and PNC Managing Counsel Rebecca Hagan, to discuss PA’s new trust nonjudicial account settlement statute in “Analysis and use of 20 Pa.C.S.A. 7785.1: Nonjudicial Settlement for Trust Termination”.
Kendra McGuire joins Chief Deputy AG Eugene Herne in exploring dissolving or merging charities in “The Dissolving Charity – Process, Procedure, and a Roadmap”.
Courtney Wentzel joins Judge John J. McNally (Dauphin County Court of Common Pleas), Keith Hinkel (Office of Elder Justice in the Courts), and Rhodia Thomas (Executive Director of MidPenn Legal Services) for “Act 61 – PA Guardianship Laws – Changes, Discussion and Impact”.
Cara Mia Pinto and Alison Smith will explore challenges and pitfalls for estate with intellectual propety in “Ideas, Inventions, and Inheritance: IP Considerations in Estate Planning and Administration”.
