McNees Tax Attorney to Explain What School District Officials Need to Know About the ESSER Fund

HARRISBURG, Pa. — Ryan Gonder, member of McNees Wallace & Nurick’s Public Finance & Government Services and State and Local Tax Groups, will explain what school district officials should know about the purchasing processes for the American Rescue Plan’s Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) Fund at an upcoming Pennsylvania School Boards Association web conference.

Pennsylvania school boards serve the critical role of providing oversight of district operations and ensuring compliance with local, state and federal laws. Gonder will discuss boards’ role in understanding the purchasing requirements of the ESSER Fund; how these dollars differ from other federal funds; what boards need to know about auditing federal funds; and key provisions in cooperative purchasing and contract approval.
