Litigation Associate – Special Education

Position Type: Attorneys

Our growing Litigation Group is adding a Special Education/Litigation Associate.  In this role, the successful candidate will advise clients regarding compliance with the Individuals with Disability Education Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act.  The associate will also represent schools at IEP meetings, mediations, resolution meetings, and administrative due process hearings.  The candidate will also develop and conduct training programs for public school entities.

Candidates should have the following qualifications:

  • J.D. and licensure in PA
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience and a desire to work with educational institutions
  • Ability to independently manage cases
  • Demonstrated cooperation with and appearances before administrative agencies
  • Litigation experience from intake through discovery and motions
  • Strong legal analytical and problem-solving skills to develop litigation strategy
  • The ability to clearly communicate and collaborate
