HARRISBURG, PA (Friday, December 2, 2016) – McNees was named the 6th Best Places to Work for 2016 in the Large Company category and is the highest ranked law firm in the Commonwealth.

The announcement was made at a dinner at the Lancaster County Convention Center on Thursday, December 1.

It was the firm’s eighth consecutive year with a top-10 ranking and its 14th year being named to the list of Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania.

The survey and awards, hosted by the Central Penn Business Journal (CPBJ), was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places to be employed in Pennsylvania, benefiting the state’s economy, its workforce and businesses.

“When we think about the ‘seven C’s of success’ all seven apply to our success: concept of what we want to accomplish, the confidence to do it, the concentration required, the consistency necessary, the commitment to achieve, the character of the people, and the capacity to enjoy,” McNees Chairman David Kleppinger said. “These ‘seven C’s of success’ permeate throughout our entire Firm at all of our office locations in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and D.C. Any organization is only as successful as the quality of its people, and our people are simply the best.”

The CPBJ, in partnership with Team Pennsylvania Foundation, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) – PA State Council and Best Companies Group, identified the best places of employment in Pennsylvania.

Companies are selected through a twofold scoring evaluation: review of a company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophies, systems and demographics; and results of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. Using a formula similar to Fortune’s “100 Best Companies to Work for in America,” the Best Companies Group scores the workplace practices survey along with the employee survey, and each Best Places to Work candidate is given an overall score.
