David M. Kleppinger Elected Chair of The United Way of Capital Region Board

HARRISBURG, PA. (April 4, 2016) – McNees Wallace & Nurick’s David M. Kleppinger has been elected Chair of the United Way of the Capital Region Board, effective April 1.  David will serve a one-year term.

David, Chairman of McNees, served as Vice Chair for the 2012 United Way campaign and Chair for the 2013 United Way campaign.

As a member of the firm’s Energy & Environmental and Government Relations Practice Groups, David represents large commercial and industrial consumers and providers of fixed utility services, including electricity, natural gas, water/wastewater, and communications.  He has led legislative and regulatory initiatives to restructure these industries for customer benefit and has appeared before over 15 state public utility commissions, the FERC, and numerous state and federal appellate courts.

Active in civic affairs, David served as Chair of the Foundation for Enhancing Communities in 2011-12.  He currently serves as Chairman for the Pennsylvania State University Political Science Department, Board of Visitors, Vice-Chair of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business & Industry, Vice-Chair of Team Pennsylvania Foundation, and is a board member for the Pennsylvania Bar and Jonathan Eshenour Foundations.

David, who has been recognized by “The Best Lawyers in America®” since 1991, is Chair of the firm’s Management Committee, Chair of the Political Action Committee, and is an ex officio member of all other firm committees.

David received his J.D. from Temple University School of Law and his B.A. from The Pennsylvania State University.  He is a member of the American Bar Association, Law Practice Management Section and the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Public Utility Law Section.
